This report is an important milestone for this blog – We have reached ten blog posts!
This is an incredible achievement for me – after launching the website in early October 2021 and starting to regularly write a couple of weeks ago (I am posting every Wednesdays and Sundays), reaching ten blog posts is great!
I know it looks like a very simple thing to celebrate, but we should acknowledge event the smallest achievements of our lives. It gives us more stamina to go ahead and face the challenges of creating a blog.
So far, my preferred posts are:
The parallel of triathlon, financial independence, and success in life – Exit 1095
How internet has been helping people to reach financial independence? – Exit 1095
Updates from my side
I officially decided to take this blog as a side hustle and face it as my business – creating blog posts has been helping me to reflect and organize my ideas. I am feeling great to write here and share my experiences with you.\
As time passes, words are coming more naturally, and I feel more comfortable connecting with you – Thanks in advance for accessing it.
The blog hasn’t had much traffic, but this is expected at this stage. I am convinced that at some point, things will ramp up (fingers crossed). If they don’t, at least I found a new hobby and am learning a lot of new stuff – SEO, WordPress, affiliate marketing, and much more….
It can be overwhelming sometimes for an illiterate person in IT, but it is exciting – I love new challenges. I am starting to also face this blog as a business, which means I need to create frameworks and structures to operate it.
Work has been busy and challenging with tight deadlines to complete the project that I am working on. I’ve also decided to start working on a contract basis in 2022, and I have already contacted potential clients for the future.
The professional market in Sydney is scorching at the moment, with tons of opportunities. But I don’t want to be an employee anymore. I hope that by the mid of next year I will be able to secure a contract. If not, I will probably take some time off and focus more on Exit 1095 project.
My FIRE portfolio has suffered a bit with the new COVID variant (omicron), and portfolio value has decreased – I am not too worried about it – In a couple of months, everything will bounce back. I will detail my FIRE portfolio over the next coming posts.
I’ve also subscribed to an online course to help me understand better the online world – It is going good!
I am still exploring opportunities to leverage Geographical Arbitrage and decided to give it a go – I am visiting part of my family in Brazil. It will be good to leave Australia for a while and refresh my mind – it has been a year full of challenges!
Goals for 2022!
I reflected a lot about my goals for 2022 on all fronts and made a straightforward list of things that I want to achieve next year:
a) Goal 1 – Grow Exit1095 and generate the first dollar online – This is one of my top priorities at the moment. I want to keep consistency in the blog. I am publishing two times per week and have been improving a lot my writing skills – consistency is the key to success. Post ideas are coming naturally, and texts are becoming better, in my opinion – it would be good to hear from you – your feedback is much appreciated.
As with every business, I want to improve it – I am trying to improve the website design and have been undertaking some tests but will probably outsource this activity – Let’s see how the tests go.
Growing means more studies, understanding and exploring new opportunities – i.e. Thinking about setting up a podcast – what do you reckon? I will keep you posted about my adventures.
b) Goal 2– From a professional perspective, I will try to set up my consultancy and work on a contract basis, as I wrote above. There are a lot of opportunities out there, and I think it is a great time to try it – excited about this front as well.
You usually make more money as a contractor, but you might have more uncertainty and less stability. I don’t mind stability now – there is a lot going on in the market, and you need to take the opportunity to make the most of it.
If there are no projects for me, I concentrate 100% on exit 1095 project.
The plan is still the same – grown exit 1095 and other online business streams while smoothly transitioning out of corporate life.
In fact, I think I will enjoy being a contractor – no corporate BS and I just need to go there and do a good job. After the project is delivered, happy days and time to move to the next one. This approach suits me.
Also, I can decide to not work for four months, for example, and travel around the world. Why not?
c) Goal 3 – I am working on obtaining Australian citizenship, and it is one big goal for 2022 – I initiated the process earlier this year, and hopefully, I can conclude it in 2022. I might try to get a European passport via my descendants, but at this stage, this is not my priority – I have too much on my plate already.
d) Goal 4 – I want to travel for weeks/months, and the destiny will probably be Europe. I have friends there and will visit them, which also means working on project exit1095 from there.
Well, I like to keep my yearly goals succinct to avoid losing focus. If I can achieve these 04 goals, I will consider it an extremely successful year. I can’t wait for it…
Have you decided on your 2022 goals already? Let’s discuss them!
Cheers and write again soon!
